Repair it right before you paint it pretty

Paint over rotten wood and you’ve just decorated a problem. Charleston’s moisture and termite pressure mean wood rot repair is part of almost every honest exterior project — and we handle it in-house. Fascia, soffits, window sills, door frames, siding, porch rails and deck boards: we replace what’s failed and rebuild it to last.

Inside, our carpenters take care of trim and molding, doors, floor repairs and the small structural fixes that make an older home feel solid again. Because the same company paints and finishes the work, there’s no gap between the repair and the result — and no second contractor to schedule.

Carpentry is the natural partner to exterior painting and full restoration projects. Proudly serving Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, North Charleston, Goose Creek, James Island, Johns Island, Daniel Island and the surrounding Lowcountry.

Our process

  1. Inspection & free estimate. we identify rot, damage and structural issues and give you a written scope.
  2. Demo & removal. damaged wood comes out cleanly — trim, fascia, siding, deck boards, railings.
  3. Build & install. new material cut and fitted to match the existing profiles and lines of your home.
  4. Seal & finish. primed, caulked and painted or stained so the new work weathers the Lowcountry as long as possible.

What affects the cost

  • Extent of the rot or damage once opened up
  • Material choices — matching historic profiles takes more care
  • Height and access for fascia, soffit and second-story work
  • Whether the carpentry is bundled with a repaint (one crew, one mobilization)

Every project gets a written, itemized estimate up front — free, with no obligation — so you know exactly what you’re paying for before we open a single can of paint.

How long does it take?

Trim and rot repairs bundled with a paint job usually add a day or two up front. Standalone projects like decks, fences and built-ins get their own schedule with your estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Do you find rot that isn't visible yet?

Often, yes — probing suspect trim and siding during the estimate is standard, so surprises get priced up front instead of mid-project.

Can you match my home's existing trim?

Yes — matching existing profiles, reveals and lines is the heart of good repair carpentry, especially on older Charleston homes.

Do you build decks and fences?

Yes — decks, railings, fences, pergolas and built-ins are all regular 1st Class projects, built and finished by the same crew.

Is it cheaper to do carpentry and painting together?

Usually — one crew and one mobilization means less overhead than hiring a carpenter and a painter separately, and the repairs get painted the right way.
